Jennifer Aniston has had her fair share of romances and heartbreaks over the years, between her messy split from first husband Brad Pitt to her subsequent divorce from actor Justin Theroux.
Now it seems the Hollywood actress, 56, may be trying her luck with love once again, after she sparked relationship rumors with hunky ‘guru’ Jim Curtis this weekend as they vacationed together in Mallorca.
But Curtis, who describes himself as a ‘transformational coach and hypnotherapist’, wasn’t always the inspirational life coach he is today.
Just eight years ago, Curtis, 49, detailed his own lifelong struggle to overcome crippling chronic pain and feelings of shame over a series of failed relationships.
In his 2017 book ‘The Stimulati Experience’, the father-of-one writes of his debilitating nerve pain and the many doctors (and shamans) he encountered in his healing ‘journey’, calling them his ‘stimulati’.
In one section, he describes a particularly low point in his life, in which he lacked meaningful relationships and was dating ‘a new girl every quarter.’

Jennifer Aniston sparked romance rumors with life coach Jim Curtis as they were seen arriving in Mallorca for the Fourth of July weekend

Aniston wore a black tank top, wide-brimmed hat and flared jeans as she introduced Curtis to actor Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka
‘I wish I had a better relationship with my son, but he lives with his mother most of the time, and he’s pissed at me,’ he writes in an extraordinary aside.
Then another:
‘My sister is a pain in the a**, because she’s so high intensity, and I can’t keep a girlfriend because I get bored.’
Elsewhere in the book, the Massachusetts native details his past romance with a woman he called ‘Lucy Lou’ and refers to as his ‘kryptonite’.
He even bought her an engagement ring and planned to propose, he says, but their relationship later came crashing down.
‘We first met while self-helping at a leadership course in New York City,’ he writes.
‘I can still remember the first time we made eye contact: My mind went blank for a moment just looking at her. We were drawn to each other as if we were meant for something more, and we were.
‘We became close friends and each other’s greatest support over the course of the six-month training and lovers after that. I couldn’t imagine my life without her. In fact, doing so created some anxiety.’

Curtis describes himself as a ‘transformational coach and hypnotherapist’ and boasts 547,000 followers on Instagram

Curtis regularly posts inspirational quotes and ‘manifestations’ to help people ‘break free from their past and patterns’ to find love. Aniston has been following him on the social media platform for almost two years

Aniston hit the like button on his post last week, hinting she was looking for love, which read: ‘Repeat these affirmations to heal and recover from a divorce, breakup or difficult romance and begin to call in the new empowered, healthy and divine love’
He was so in love, however, that he says he ignored the red flags and ‘glaring issues’.
He also admits to stalking his girlfriend’s boyfriend on Facebook in the midst of their breakup, which caused him to ‘spiral into inadequacy and “not enough-ness” around the loss of the relationship, then shame myself for not only the relationship’s ending but also for Facebook stalking them.’
Now, to confront his feelings of inadequacy, Curtis says he writes the ‘details of my shame’ on little pieces of paper and sets them on fire while alone in his bedroom.
But for all this talk of odd anxieties, it seems Curtis has since grown, thanks to the help from his ‘stimulati’.
Now, his social media page is filled with inspirational quotes and ‘manifestations’ to help other people ‘break free from their past and patterns’ to find love. And he makes a healthy living out of it.
Not only does Curtis boast some 550,000 followers on Instagram, but Aniston herself has been following him on the platform for almost two years.
Back in November 2023, she ‘liked’ one of his posts, which read: ‘Is it better to settle or stay alone? The answer lies in nurturing meaningful relationships. Research shows that connections with others are crucial for happiness. So, don’t settle in your love life, and don’t isolate yourself either.’
As recently as last week, Aniston was spotted liking another of Curtis’s posts about healing from a divorce.
‘Repeat these affirmations to heal and recover from a divorce, breakup or difficult romance and begin to call in the new empowered, healthy and divine love,’ the caption read.
Curtis is also the author of ‘Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide: A Workbook for Coding a New Consciousness’, which, in an Instagram post of her own, Aniston confirmed she was reading.
The pair were recently seen jetting off to Mallorca together for the Fourth of July weekend.
Aniston, who looked happy and relaxed on the trip, enthusiastically introduced Curtis to her close friends, actor Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka, before the group enjoyed a yacht party together.
It’s not the first time the rumored couple have stepped out in public.
Last month, Aniston and Curtis were spotted at luxury hotel Ventana Big Sur in Northern California. The Daily Mail even learned the pair put on a ‘cozy’ display and were seen ‘cuddling up’ at the hotel’s restaurant.
And back in April, Curtis hinted at romance between the pair when he commented a heart emoji on an Instagram video of Aniston flaunting her toned frame while working out.

Aniston gave further evidence of her growing bond with Curtis last April, when she revealed she had turned to hypnosis to get over her fear of flying

Aniston and Curtis’s trip to Mallorca wasn’t their first public outing together – they were spotted at luxury hotel Ventana Big Sur in Northern California in June

The Daily Mail previously reported that the pair put on a ‘cozy’ display and were seen ‘cuddling up’ at the hotel’s restaurant
That same month, Aniston further hinted at their growing bond when she revealed hypnosis was part of her strategy for overcoming a fear of flying.
‘I have been doing some hypnosis lately… it’s shockingly good!’ she said.
Curtis practices a therapy he calls ‘hypno-realization,’ which he says helps people ‘break free from their past to create an entirely new reality of powerful loving connection.’
His own backstory saw him overcome years of chronic illness, which first struck the summer after his freshman year at the University of New Hampshire in 1995.
When an MRI revealed lesions on his spinal cord, he decided to change his story from ‘frat guy athlete to something else’ and pursue alternative methods of healing.
Curtis credits his university professor for sowing the seeds of his philosophy.
‘He taught me to meditate and introduced me to the idea of mindfulness, focusing on just being present,’ he said in a 2017 interview.
Long before Curtis entered her life, Aniston was married to actor Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005. The Hollywood couple famously imploded when he met actress Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
It wasn’t until 2015 that Aniston settled down again, marrying actor Justin Theroux that year.
But theirs wasn’t a lasting romance either – they divorced just three years later.
In 2022, Aniston revealed she had unsuccessfully tried in vitro fertilization (IVF) – and said she wished she had frozen her eggs years earlier.
‘It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,’ Aniston said at the time.
‘All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it,’ she added.
‘I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, “Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.” You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.’
But, she added, ‘I have zero regrets.’
As for Curtis, he has one teenage son, Aiden, and lives in New York with his rescue dog, Odie.
