Kieran Trippier’s estranged wife Charlotte ‘consults lawyers’ over marriage after England star seen with arm around mystery woman in Ibiza

England football star Kieran Trippier’s estranged wife is consulting lawyers after he was pictured with his arm around another woman in Ibiza, it has been claimed.

The Newcastle United defender, 34, was seen mingling at the Spanish island resort – fuelling further speculation about his split from wife of nine years Charlotte. 

Trippier, who played 54 times for the Three Lions and whose previous clubs include Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid, has a son and two daughters with Charlotte. 

The new reports of his socialising, after he helped his current club finish fifth in the Premier League this now-ended season, suggest he partied with two blonde women on separate nights – one in Newcastle, the other in Ibiza.

Charlotte thanked online someone who sent a video of Trippier leaving a Newcastle nightclub on May 11 with one of the unnamed woman.

Mrs Trippier, 35, wrote: ‘Love a girls’ girl. Thanks babe.’

Now she is pondering potential legal action over their union, the Sun reported. 

A source was quoted as saying: ‘Charlotte has taken legal advice over her marriage.

‘She has got a new house, is settled, is moving on and wants to sort it amicably and be quite mature. She feels happier away from him.’

That same source also described Trippier as ‘devastated’ by developments.

They added: ‘He has been desperately trying to get back with her but she’s over him.’

Trippier, thought to earn an estimated £130,000 per week, was reportedly spotted among revellers at Wafi Lounge in Newcastle – with a fellow guest filming on a mobile phone before contacting Mrs Trippier on Instagram with an alert.

She posted: ‘Hi, Kieran was out with some blonde t**t last night in Wafi Lounge. Just to let u know I have a pic lol.’

Trippier’s wife replied by saying, ‘Thanks girl. U got the pic?’, and was sent a screengrab of a video – appearing to show Trippier in a white T-shirt and sunglasses, alongside an unidentified woman.

Charlotte responded with her ‘Love a girls’ girl. Thanks babe’ comment, before giving a heart emoji to the correspondent’s reply of ‘Hope you’re okay’.

The woman taking the video later told the Sun On Sunday: ‘I got in touch with her because, if a boyfriend or husband of mine was around town with another woman, I’d want to know.’

Trippier has since been photographed with his arm around a woman in a straw hat at Ushuaia nightclub in Ibiza on Friday last week, the newspaper reported.

The sportsman announced his retirement from international football in August last year – with MailOnline revealing how he wanted to to focus on life outside the game following his marriage breakdown.

Speculation over the status of their marriage mounted last summer when Charlotte appeared to air her struggles during the European Championship in Germany, when Kieran was part of the England squad that finished runners-up to Spain.

She uploaded a series of photos on Instagram for a break she enjoyed on the Greek island of Santorini following the tournament – while her husband was seen on a post-Euros trip to Turkey with friends.

Those separate holidays came after she had shared a cryptic message on social media just hours ahead of England’s first round group game against Slovenia.

The mother-of-three posted: ‘Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you’d never get over and it’s the best feeling in the world.’

The Mail revealed at the time how friends of Kieran were furious at her decision to share the post – which she then swiftly deleted – especially on such a highly-scrutinised day for the England side.

Charlotte has often seen cheering her husband on from the stands in the past but was absent from Three Lions matches during Euro 2024.

Sources close to the player told MailOnline they believe he then partly took the decision to retire from international football to help remove a ‘layer of pressure’  after his marriage split

A source said last summer: ‘It’s been known for some time that things are not good between them. They’ve had a number of issues and have been trying to resolve them but it’s proving to be quite a challenge.

‘Charlotte has stayed in England with their children during the Euros, unlike the other WAGs who have all been flying to Germany for the games. It will be interesting to see what happens between them once the Euros are over.’

Charlotte previously described herself on her Instagram page as ‘married’ and listed her interests as ‘Family. Fashion. Travel’ – but her profile now states: ‘Mummy of 3. Keeping it simple and keeping it REAL. Life is too short to be anything but HAPPY. Make that change, life WILL get BETTER.’
