Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs alleged drug mule is expected to take the stand in his trial Wednesday as the prosecution wraps up their case.
The mogul’s lawyers revealed this week they will now only need as little as two days to present their case – a move experts think could signal the defense is feeling optimistic about Diddy’s chances of walking free.
‘This current change is likely based on the defense’s observation of some weaknesses in the prosecution’s case. We have to keep in mind that the burden of proof rests on the prosecution,’ attorney Nicole Brenecki told Fox News.
The defense’s announcement came before the jury was shown nearly 20 minutes of explicit video recordings of the ‘freak-offs’ at the center of the case against the music executive.
Diddy, 55, has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. He has been jailed at a federal lockup in Brooklyn since his September arrest at a Manhattan hotel.
Diddy’s ‘drug mule’ Brendan Paul to take the stand
Paul was named in a civil lawsuit filed last February by Rodney Jones Jr who accused Diddy of forcing him to hire prostitutes to engage in sex acts.
Jones accused Paul of being Diddy’s drug ‘mule’ who transported drugs for him, as well as guns.
Paul, 25, a former Syracuse University basketball player, was arrested in March last year at Opa-locka airport in Miami.
He was charged with cocaine and marijuana possession but was given a six month drug intervention programme, which he completed and so avoided jail time.
Paul testified in court under an immunity order signed by the judge.

Court is cancelled over ANOTHER juror issue
Judge Arun Subramanian cancelled testimony today over a juror having a vertigo episode on their way to court.
There will also not be testimony Thursday as it is a federal holiday.
Judge issues stern warning to lawyers over information leaks
The judge said he believed someone who was at the sealed court hearing violated his secrecy order.
In the future, Subramanian said, he would hold prosecutor Maurene Comey and lead defense attorney Marc Agnifilo responsible for any slipups, and any violations of his orders could result in criminal contempt penalties ‘at the most extreme level.’
‘This is the only warning I will give,’ he said.

Court start delayed as juror has medical issue
Judge Arun Subramanian said on Wednesday morning that a juror had vertigo while on his way to court and had to return home.
‘I don’t see how we can proceed today,’ he added.
The judge said the juror’s health issue appears to be ‘unexpected and momentary’ but he will make a decision later about keeping him on the jury.
Kanye West’s visit to Diddy trial
Kanye West stunned the ongoing trial for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as he showed up to back the disgraced rap mogul, hugging his son in a show of support Friday.
West caused chaos at the trial in Manhattan on Friday as he surprised crowds outside the courthouse.
The artist, who now performs by the name Ye, wore an all-white denim outfit to the trial.
The key man hanging over the Diddy trial that no one’s talking about
Every day, the rapper, 55, who is currently standing trial in New York on sex trafficking charges, is supported at court by his loyal mother Janice.
Even most of his seven children attended the opening statements as a group, with some of his sons in regular attendance.
Yet if there is one man who haunts the trial, it is his late father, Melvin Combs – who may even explain how Diddy came to land in such hot water.
Prosecution says they are delayed
Prosecutors said on Tuesday morning that they expected to rest their case on Wednesday.
However, by the end of Tuesday they told the Judge they will not be finished by then, as summary witness testimonies took longer than expected.
Prosecutors now expect to rest their case on Friday, as there is not court on Thursday due to the Juneteenth holiday.
